Polish studio Ultra Architects designed a one-of-a-kind playhouse for a little girl named May.
The original intention of this project was to build a tree house but the trees on her family’s backyard wasn’t suitable for use. The only place turned out to be a vertex, the folds of earth, which was created during the construction, on the edge of the garden.
Completed in 2008, this adorable 6 square meter playroom is located in Poland.
May’s Playhouse by Ultra Architects:
May is 6 years old and the idea of the house are the archetypal house with a chimney draws a large window and a sloping roof. After long discussions we decided to give her a copy of the most recognizable contemporary home with archetypal form, the project office Rudin House Jacques Herzog & Pierre de Meuron. It’s fair to say that it is almost plagiarism of the house. Because it is almost its form, almost its divisions, and is made of very different materials. The only issue on which we have focused this property has been designing ventilation. The floor cottage is openwork, all elements illuminate open and chimneys are not for decoration, but are provided for ventilation.
