Australian studio Fiona Winzar Architects have designed The Eyelid House located in South Yarra, Melbourne, Australia. This contemporary home was completed in 2007.

Description from the architects:

The bespoke rear addition to this inner Melbourne Victorian terrace features a roof form reminiscent of an eyelid, which provides privacy from the neighbouring three-storey building.

The arabesque interior, which includes artisan produced stained-glass and crafted wooden screens, is complemented by the owner's collection of vintage Turkish rugs and furniture.

The resultant home is contemporary, but retains an exotic ambiance reflecting the owner's style.
