Bratislava-based studio Pokorny Architekti designed the Weekend House located in Nosice, Slovakia.
This 130 square meter modern cottage was completed in 2011.
Weekend House by Pokorny Architekti:
At the beginning of the Weekend House project, the concept was to have a ‘cottage somewhere with beautiful surroundings’ and the site was preferably somewhere in the mountains of Central Slovakia and should be a log house – cottage.
Since the home owner was on on a business trip that week, staying in Bratislava in Puchov, the designers proposed the possiblity to build a weekend home.During the weekend, the home owners will can go to the cottage after arriving from work “in slippers”.
The house offers on the ground floor entrance patch (covered patio) with outdoor grill, wellness area (with sauna and hottub), living area, dining room and 2 bedrooms upstairs. Dom is implemented in low-energy standard, the main source of heat are ceramic tiles with the additional possibility of electric heating.
