Instead of waiting for business to come to him, Erik Olovsson thought of a unique way of bringing his services to his prospective clients. Starting with his thesis project for his masters at Konstfack University in Stockholm, Eric purchased an old mobile home and started filling it up with everything he would use for his mobile design studio – a computer, printer, camera, paper and so on. He called it Eriks Designbuss.
He says of this project, “I want to explore new ways to work and above all get closer to the customer. Maybe you need the local pizzeria help with new menus? The dentist new business card? The local gallery a better logo, or the farmer a new sign on the barn?”
Olovson has traveled around Sweden, stopping by towns to offer his services since March this year. To level up engagement and interaction with clients, he’s experimenting on trading as his preferred mode of payment, like a great meal, gasoline, a hot shower or new tires. This project is definitely a remarkable experience to Erik and his clients as well. If you happen to be in Sweden, follow updates and future locations on Eriks Designbuss website.
