If this would be your first time to read something like marbled graphics, then it is confirmed… I am not alone, huh! Now there is the two of us or maybe hundreds of us! Okay, but what is it anyway? Paper marbling is a method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or other stone. The patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper or fabric.
Now that we already know what this artwork is, it is time to meet one artist who is really good at it and he is Robert Wu. The artist is a hand bookbinder and marbler based in Toronto, Canada. Robert makes beautiful marbling art, hand bound books, teddy bears and letterpress stationery one at a time in his studio with fine traditional craftsmanship. You can purchase some of his graphics online here.
