Lights attached on tree branches are gradually stepping into the limelight. Remember the lamps made from sawmill scraps and tree branches by Italian designer Marco Stefanelli? Now here comes a different set of tree lights designed by Judson Beaumont of Straight Line Designs. The collection is called Tree Rings, made out of a beetle pine shell topped with mirrored Plexiglas that allows the embedded cool fluorescent light to shine through in the dark.
The designer says:
During the day they are a nice perch for your feet or your drink or your. Simple and playful. At night however, they transform into something else entirely. Illuminated from within, the different coloured tints in the acrylic resins flood the surrounding area with a bright and lively luminescence .
