Holi Festival, also known as the Festival of Colours, was celebrated in Berlin on the 29th of July, 2012. The crowd’s huge smiles clearly show a cheerful and vivid celebration of life.
It is said that the traditional Holi, Color Festival in India, is celebrated during the spring season. At this time of the year, the weather changes and is believed to cause fever and cold. The playful throwing of natural coloured powders has medicinal significance: the colours were traditionally made of a variety of medicinal herbs. Over the years, the original ingredients became hard to find and was replace with modern day dyes. People collect these pigments throughout the year to release them in this festival as a celebration of life and tribute to Vishnu.
The world is fascinating. People and cultures inspire us. Sadly, the fast paced lifestyles of our generation result in many not taking the necessary step back to soak in the existing world around us. Our goal with this film is to help viewers further appreciate and take notice of the beauty in life & culture that lies within our world…
…so the next time you notice something that strikes you as interesting, stop for a second, start powering on your camera, think about why it’s unique, and snap the shot before you miss it. Life is extraordinary. Embrace it.
